I fell in love with CranioSacral for the same reasons you did – because it changes people in deep, meaningful ways. Frank’s back pain has faded to a dull ache vs. a screaming, hot red sacrum. Sally no longer feels the crunching in her jaw that was making her worry that her jaw was literally falling. Kate now feels safe and at home in her body. Regardless of the specifics, it all adds up to big, important work.
So, what am I about?
I’m about shortening your learning curve and helping you expand and own your expertise so you feel more confident at the table and get better results with your clients.
There’s a lot to know about CST and you can easily feel overwhelmed as you navigate life after class on your own. I know. I’d be so excited after a class, determined to learn the material and practice, practice, practice. And I did, but questions would come up and I’d have no one to ask. Or I’d need help understanding a concept and get stuck. Like you, I learned there’s only so far I could go on my own.
So I mentored and I assisted classes, lots and lots of classes. I also got my hands on lots and lots of clients. And I spent hours and hours combing the internet and anatomy books for pictures of the ventricles or the sphenoid so I could really visualize what was under my hands. I read oodles of books, gathering pearls from the masters and I took my skills to a whole new level when I became a CST instructor.
What does this mean for you?
Quite simply, it means I know my stuff, I’m really good at teaching it and I’m passionate about helping you become the therapist you are committed to being so that your clients get the changes they’re looking for.
I’m the mentor you wish you’d had access to all along – a resource, a guide, an experienced practitioner confident in her ability to facilitate change for her clients and her students. And no, you don’t have to travel to tap into what I have to offer you.
Curious about my training background?
I’ve completed through Advanced CST I with the Upledger Institute. I’m a certified teaching assistant and Techniques Certified. I also had the privilege of being a visiting therapist at the Upledger Institute, working in their Intensive Treatment program.
Another influence on my work is Cathy Pliscof Holway, PT, DPT. I’ve studied with her extensively and completed several courses in her Sacred Spaces Seminars curriculum, including pediatrics and specialized training for working with the mouth and jaw. From 2002-’06 I was an instructor for Sacred Spaces Seminars, teaching The Foundations Course.
And yes, CST has helped me personally
When I decided to really focus on learning CST, I had absolutely no idea how much it would help me personally. It’s offered support through surgeries, miscarriages, IVF and a c-section. It’s helped me make peace with my body and stop beating it up for “not working right”. It’s supported me in developing a deep trust and appreciation for the wisdom of my body.
I know in my tissues, my bones, my fluids, what it’s like to come home to my body. It’s changed my life profoundly.
So yes, I’m passionate about craniosacral and I’m passionate about helping you flesh out the map of what’s under your hands and develop your craniosacral fluency so that you can give more people the opportunity to connect to, and fully live in, their body.
